Your body might have been born to ride that snowboard, but you still need help keep that ass warm. Zip into the Volcom Women’s Shale Insulated Jacket. Light insulation in this snowboarding jacket boosts the heat factor and won’t add a bunch of unwelcome bulk, while fully taped seams and 8K-rated fabric fend off snow. A V-Science Breathable Lining System reduces swamp-jacket syndrome, while the three-way adjustable hood protects your noggin when the winds kick up.
I'm 5'10 and about 135lbs, and i just ordered the medium. a medium is what i usually wear in clothes, and I've also read that this jacket does fit a little loose, and that the arms are nice and long, which is good because i don't want it to be really snug. so do you think medium was a good choice?
My XL gray just came in the mail today I was really excited because it's a really cool medium heather gray it looks even better in person than in the pictures. I am 5'8 34c about 145lb slim wear 29" jeans usually and I got the XL because even though I'd read the reviews I was worried my long ape arms wouldn't fit. Well the arm length was great, but I was seriously swimming in material, you could fit two of me in it. I'm exchanging it for a large although I have a feeling a med or small would fit great in the body I do have really long arms and I like it to still be a bit baggy so I can layer it. This jacket fits super long which is nice as it covers the bum and you're not peeking skin when you lift your arms over your head. I was surprised how warm it actually was when I tried it on considering how thin the insulation is in it. Even though its last years gear it will stay current when all the allover print jackets go out of style (not to knock those because i ordered the Robson in blurred petal color as well). Overall this is my new favorite jacket.
I got this jacket in the gray color and it's awsome!!! It's super warm and looks great! I got a lot of compliments!! The sizing of this jacket is loose fitting BUT...the size chart is true to size! If it says you need a large...get a large!!! I wouldn't size down because you probably won't have enough room to layer underneath. Now my only dilema is what color of pants to get to go with the jacket?? Any ideas??
I'm 5'1" and 110 and after reading the reviews, i got an XS but it was too snug. fit fine, but didn't leave much room to layer and still move around. the weight all the features are great though so i'm exchanging it for a S, and hopefully it will be perfect.
I was wandering what kind of purple is it? bright or really deep purple?? because i have turquoise pants and i don't know if this jacket would go with my pants. really don't wanna get bright purple jacket.
this jacket is pure amazing. vibrant purple with a denim look to it. fits great but SIZE DOWN! I normally wear large jackets, i have 2 mediums and theyre snug. This medium is loosey goosey! love love love!
Is the size chart accurate? According to it, my size is between M and L and I don't know which one to choose. I usually wear M (European size), but that would get a bit thight according to the size chart and layering might become a problem (but L would be loose). In the reviews everyone says the jacket fits loose and that you have to size down. My height is 5'9"/5'10". What would you do, buy M or L?
I'm 5 10 too and i always get a medium in my sizes but also im a little curvy so it really depends on you whole waist and chest size and if you are going to layer with it too when you are on the mount. Hope that was helpful!
I got this jacket and it is nice but I highly recommend getting the size below what you are. I got a small but should have gotten the x-small. The look of it is so/so but it seems like a really good jacket.
I did a quick google on this jacket for you, and there's a few places that pop up for you to buy it. But this time of year, last year's gear can be really tricky to find!
this jacket is sweet. i love the grey color. i got the medium. i am 5'10 and it hits at my hips. the only thing is, i find it a bit snug around my hips so i just unzip the bottom zipper a bit - easy fix.
This jacket fits a little big. I would say if you wear a size small Hoodie in most brands, this jacket will be a little loose on you in a medium, possibly even too loose. The extra room will help you layer if it ever gets chilly!
If you post your Height, I think most people that know how to fit jackets will be able to get a more precise fit.

Hey...I was just wondering about the sizing of this jacket...I took my mesurements and according to the size chart I should get an XL...is the size chart true to size? I don't like tight fitting jackets but I also don't want to get the jacket and it be massively HUGE on me!! Thx!
It's got a snow skirt to keep the snow out and it's pretty much wind proof. I bought it as a lighter jacket that's less bulky but with a hoodie underneath it's still super warm!
Ok the color is to die for! Love it! The fit is nice plenty of room without feeling like a marshmellow. I am 5'2", 125lbs and a c'cup. I bought the medium. I think a small would fit snug but workable. I prefer a bit more breathing room. Medium was great.. the sleeves just a touch too long but thats an ongoing thing for me. I have 3 other volcom jackes. A small for just chillin around town and 2 mediums for mt.
I'M TALL & SLIM... SHOULD I ORDER A SMALL OR AN X SMALL? I'M WORRIED THE ARMS WON'T BE LONG ENUF IF I ORDER XS & THAT IT WILL BE TOO BAGGY IF I ORDER THE S
really i think youd be fine with the xs. im 5'6 and got a medium and a girl 5'10 (below comment) also got the medium. i got decently long arms and the sleeves are still a little long. so xs should be fine, well, unless your a giant!
check the fit guide for this jacket. The link is under where you pick your size. If your tall, I'd go with the larger size, you always want to make sure you have room for some layers!
This jacket is awesome. Love it. I'm 4'11'' with curves and the XS fits perfect, the sleeves are a little long for my short arms but it fits in all the right spots. I usually have a hard time finding a jacket that fits my petite torso and my bubbly butt. Cause of the cut it fits my small shoulders and has plenty of room to go over my butt plus my snowboarding pants so it's not riding up to my waist when I'm riding the mountain. It's not a slim fitting cut, more like a relaxed fit to give you room to move around in it. It's a little heavier than other jackets but it's warm with out the bulk and it's got lots of pockets to stash all your necessities. I got the gray color and it's like a heather gray.
i just got mine in the mail yesterday... i ordered it so it would be a bit big on me, and the hood seemed big enough for a helmet.. i didn't try it, but when i do i'll post back up.
got this jacket not too long ago in purple. it's a nice vibrant purple, but not blinding at all. it has all the gizmos and gadgets including pocket for your ipod and ear bud hole, and inside pocket ect ect it's warm, it's fresh to death, it's over all rad. deff recommend. peace love <3
just wondering if this jacket will keep me warm, im thinking about buying it. but im not sure if its warm enough.. does anyone have it? and is it warm haha ?
havent used it yet but I think it will work just great. feels solid not flimsy. Ive have similar volcom jackets in the past and never have had a bad day do to clothing on mt hood.
suuuuper warm without the bulk... forget that inside fleece and shell combo. it looks great on, but it also has a ton of little features that rock on the mountain- you can store your tunes in a pocket and run the buds through the collar, a KICKIN powder skirt with hooks to grab on to your pants, hooks on the insides of your pockets, and a few extra stashable areas here and there. i love the color but be aware that it is REALLY purple!
Hey, i was wondering if the purple colour on the internet is the same as it looks in real life. I have bright green pants and can't decide if it would match.
Previous reviewers have said that its a pretty bright purple. And this jacket is lightly insulated, so if its really cold out you may need to layer a bit for added warmth.
I have noticed with Volcom womens hoodies that I have to order the xl to get them to fit in the arms and body as they fit smaller than normal. I'm just wondering if this jacket runs small as well.
nooo!!! definatly don't order a bigger size than you usually do! i usually take s in everything. I ordered this in small and it is HUGE!! I'm giving it to my sister who is usually a m or l in jackets!
