Its more like a wind breaker and unless you plan on wearing alot of layers, I'd say go for something thicker.

Was in Chi Town last March and the first thing I did was hit the stores looking for a warmer jacket and more layers (yes, March!). It's a great jacket, but it's got no warmth if you're looking for warmth.

Warmth is within the person stylin' it. It definitely needs a few layers underneath so order accordingly and remember, its fitted!

Growing up in the midwest, I can say that pretty much nothing will block the wind of a Chi-town winter. This jacket is not windproof and I gotta be honest, you'll freeze your ass if you don't wear a layer or two underneath. Rock it with a sweater and a scarf for style points and you'll be golden.

This jacket is out of control good. The fit is slim, I got a Large and normally wear a large T-shirt and this fit nice and could throw a sweater below it. If your looking for a fat cat look you might want to up the size. If your looking to show off your giant biceps, order a normal t-shirt size. The style is crazy good, the liner is dope, I feel like a freaking rock star in the thing. I guess I should say I hate so nobody else buys it. I would say with a sweater underneath the lowest temp you could go would be around 30 or so. Anything after that your will freeze your ass off. There is not insulation, just a liner. So be prepared. Good luck.

have to agree with Shredwise and am thinking due to the cut of the jacket, even a large might be a little snug as during the Winter months you most definitely will need to layer underneath. It's a rad jacket but there is NOT much to keep one warm...

Definitely Large-- a medium would be too small for you if you're 180 lbs. It's a fitted jacket.
