This Von Zipper Feenom Goggle keeps you riding in any conditions, from low light pow days and night park sessions to bluebird spring days. Front venting keeps your vision fog-free and an articulating hinge means these goggles will fit right, with or without a helmet.
got a second pair of phenoms this year and i honestly think they are perfect...fogging is not a problem, no fogging during normal riding and lift lines, and when they do fog after going inside or what not, a quick pat dry with a bag and lift ride later they are perfect and good as new...Now for fitting, these are very comfortable, they dont stick out very far from your face and pressure is distrubted evenly. for you helmet riders: these have a flat top (as opposed to a round top like a-frames) and that comes in handy when fitting with a helmet, these fit great my RED muntiny and hi-fi, and my PROTEC ace freecarve...Vision is great, they are deceptively big and have a huge field of vision and lastly. THE LOOKS ARE SIIIIIIICK!...these goggles look huge without making you look like an astronaut, and the lenses are awesome, i can stand see-thru lenses and Von Zipper has the best chrome lenses out there...just stay away from the smoke lenses if you NEED completely reflective lenses like i do, cuz you can actually see through the smoke lenses
BOTTOM LINE: fogging is minimal, fit feels like they aren't even there, works great with a helmet, looks sick without being too over the top...perfect goggle
I got these goggles last year in the black and white shown in the detail views. They look sick and are super comfy. The bonus lens is also a nice touch. Not having to dish out the cash for another set of goggles/lenses for different conditions is sweet. Fit really well with the R.E.D. Munity II helmet.
Thanks for the Unisex info on the love in. i was also wondering..
I decided that I love these goggles enough to buy them for how awesome they look. So I have one more question before I put $140 down on a new pair of goggles...I am buying these for couldy days and was wondering how well the smokey pink did compared to H.I. persimmon or blue iridium? I've never worn any of these colors before and I know that lense color is almost all opinionated but! in general which lenses work best for partly-cloudy/cloudy/snowy days? (It doesn't have to be those colors) Thanks, Kyle
these lenses are made for cloudy/snowy days. its most comparable to the high intensity persimmon lens from oakley. the blue iridium is more for sunny bright days.
These here are pictured in Gold Chrome and feature a Visual Light Transmission of 13%. You cannot see into them when looking in. Gold chrome performs well in Bright sun, clouds with sun and does average in overcast.
To become more learned in VLT, here's a good visual with an explanation: http://www.apexfilms.ca/vlt-visual-light-transmission-info.htm
These are the best gogs on the market. Period. Great field of vision in all directions, hot colors and great lens selections. What else could you ask for?
I haven't tried them with the Smith Holt helmet, but I have tried them with the RED HI-Fi and they fit great. I'd say, try the goggles out and if they don't fit with your helmet, you can always return them.
- Peripheral vision: Amazing! I can practically see my ears in these things. - Lenses: The gold chrome is great for sunny days and looks badass. The bonus night lens is much darker than it looks in the picture. Its perfect for night time, and is still dark enough that your eyes cant be seen from the outside. - Changing lenses: I used to use Oakleys before this, and the Feenom lenses are a million times easier to change. - Fog issues: None - Size: These things are HUGE without being cumbersome. Definitely not for small faces. - Helmet compatibility: I wear a RED Hi-Fi and they fit pretty well over it. There are nice hinges on the sides of the goggle that keep it from coming off your face. It lines up nicely with the helmet at the top of the goggle too. - Other nice features: The buckles (is that what you would call them?) that adjust the strap are made of metal, not plastic. They are nice and shiny, and super durable. The bonus lens is really nice to have for dark nights.
My only complaint with these goggles is that, although the bonus lens comes with a one of those plastic cover that you peel off when you get it, the chrome lens in the goggle does not. My lens ended up getting a little bit scratched during shipping.
I was just wondering... Are the love in frames with the pink smoke a girls frame? Cause personally I think they look awesome but I really don't want to have that awkward conversation on the hill with random girls that say, (awsuming that the are tourists) "LIKE! OMG we have the same goggles! Aren't they just the cutests?" Then I would be thinking... "Man this is super awkward... why does this tourist/poser/newbie have the same frames as me?" Don't get me wrong, I don't h8 random tourist girls, I just don't want my friends baggin on me all day (yes they r that mean and shallow) Oh and are the feenoms in general a super popular goggle? I see that everyone loves them but i don't want to buy a pair then find out everyone has the same thing. I wanted to buy VZ cause it seemed a little more low-key then Oakley, Smith, Dragon and so on. (obviously I'm super-ficial... I know the specs rock & i should care about that..but I can't help wanting to stand out too) Thanks for the help Kyle
So the Feenom is a uni-sex goggle, and one of the best selling ones from VZ. I have the Love In color, and let me tell you it is FRICKING SICK. That is going to be one of the main colors that you will see on the hill this year, but then again CMYK is going to be everywhere. If you are that sold on it, then I would say go for it! The Midnight Safari is also a cool color ... the Fire Chrome lens is sick looking.
Plus living in Steamboat I am sure that we wont run into each other, so no OMG-awkwardness there my friend.
Hmmmm. I can't tell if you are really concerned about this, so I'm just going to give you a stock answer. The Feenom goggles are a larger sphyrical lens goggle that has amazing horizontal and vertical vision. They fit great, and they look great. They are a unisex goggle. Guys wear em. Girls wear em. Even kids wear em sometimes. VZ is popular, but they are super mega-corpo like some of the other brands you mentioned. VZ is a little more slippery and dangerous.
Oh, and I know I am not supposed to care about what other people think about me (least when your not trying to get a job)and I should just tell me friends to get over it... But honestly, who doesn't like being complimented on how good they look? "When you look good, you ride good." love that sayin.. and its tru, better you look, better self esteem, better confidence, better riding.
They hardly ever fog and they have a great fit. They look sick, which is always a plus. They fit well with a red hi-fi so you can rid in w/e condition while protecting your nog.
They come with additional night lenses with is awesome but as some others have said, they are very similar to the lenses they come with. Still great goggles regardless.
They look awesome, feel awesome, and preform awesome. They are incredible goggles, my only compliant would be that the lenses that come with the goggle are similar to the night lenses, where as it'd be nicer to have some day time lenses.
I just got the new hottness from VZ ... The Feenom in Love In. We all know that this is a killer frame from a rad company. And the hit it on the mark again with the CMYK Love In color this year. And the smoke pink lenses ... Steezy as all get out. Period.
The Feenoms have never been a 'troublesome' goggle on the hill. I have never had issues with them fogging up, the fit on them is great for someone who doesn't want that fishbowl-look, and they still have a great field of vision.
If you are looking for a great pair of goggles to run this year, you can't go wrong with the Feenoms.
