Awesome!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So far I couldn't be happier with these. They look great and the sound quality is killer. The materials all seem pretty bomber so I'm sure they'll be able to take a beating. The control button is in a good location and has worked in iTunes on my Macbook and on my phone. And to top it off, they're super comfortable which isn't always the case with over-ear headphones.

The cord does seem a little shorter than some others, but that's been a plus for me so far. I hate when my phone is in my pocket then I have 3 extra feet of cord drooping down. For desk work or having your phone in your pocket, it's perfect!

Why buy Beats?

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After demoing these headphones in the office I am a big fan of SOL Republic and their products. The technology involved and price point you get it all for is amazing. Why would you spend double for the brand name in Dre Beats or even Bose when SOL Republic has brought these to the market? The Master Tracks are the most comfortable over the ear headphones I have ever worn in my life. The sound quality is terrific as well. Booming bass and clear, crisp mids creating the best sound no matter what type of music genre you are into. Even tested out the headband to make sure it in fact was as 'indestructable' as Sol Republic claims. It passed the test. I plan on buying these in the future before I hop on a plane for some vacation time in Hawaii. The noise cancelling performance of these headphones will help me battle the blaring sound of the plane engine as well as those crying babies you always seem to sit close to. :-]

Great sound

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The sound quality on these is really nice. Great passive noise cancelling you get from the snug fit, allows for movement without having to re-adjust at all. With the snug fit did come some minor discomfort for me after multiple hours of use, but like Matthew I have a pretty large head so that was expected. The inline controls on the cable work as they should, answering calls, everything you would expect, and the microphone in there was great for call quality as well.

Solid

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These headphones are super solid. Great adjust-ability. The really hug your head, sometimes it's a bit much for me but I have a pretty big dome, definitely not going to fall off. The headphones themselves fit over the ears really well, not like some of the smaller ones that smash your ears down. These do a really good job of cancelling out noise. Music is very clear, excellent bass. The remote on the the cord is great for taking calls and moving through music. My only gripe is that the cord itself is definitely on the short side, other than that they are fantastic!

Keeping me up at 3am

Amazing sound. I listened to some of my favorite songs using these tonight and I heard some many new sounds in the songs. These are balanced just right. You can actually feel the headphones moving because the bass is bumping so hard. I love these things. If you need to get into the zone before you go snowboarding or whatever put these bad boys on. They kept me wide awake through my 10 hour graveyard shift at Backcountry.com

Balanced Sound.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are solid over the ear headphones. They have a very clear and balanced sound. Not too much Bass, but they will definitely blow you away when you crank it up. (I could only handle it for one song at full volume) They do a good job at canceling noise as well. Now one thing I hate about over the ear headphones is that I can't wear them for too long before my ears start hurting. I had a different story with these. I rocked them for a 10 hour shift with no problem at all. These are very durable and easy to store due to the removable headband. The one thing I didn't like is the volume control didn't work in my computer, only on my phone.

Balanced Sound.
