so comfy

What a great looking and comfortable boot. I size down in Sorels though. Took a 9 instead of my usual 10.

can this be free returned?

Responded on

Hey Yang,

We do not always offer free return shipping and treat it as a case by case basis. If you set up a return through your account online the return label you receive will always be $6.99 which will come out of your refund. If you feel your return justifies a free return you will need to call in and discuss this with one of our Gearheads so that they can get you set up with a free label instead.

Love This Boot!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I had been waiting for this boot to go on sale any where!!! I had been looking all over the internet since last year, no lie. When I found them I was so excited. I read review after review to find the best fit. I am a 6-7 in all foot wear so I knew this was going to be tricky... I ordered a 6 and found one review to be true. They do slip up and down on the heal if worn with a thinner wool sock. They fit snug if worn with a heavy wool sock. So I go with the thinner sock because I don't want to stretch them out. I have worn them 2 times and have been complimented both times. They don't have much in the way of a cushiony soul. But they aren't rock hard like ugg's either. So far I haven't worn them in snow, just rain. My feet felt like I was home on the couch with a warm blanket on them!

Do you think they would fit a smaller calf?...

Do you think they would fit a smaller calf? I have really, really slim calves (like 12" circumference).

Responded on

Hey Carly, I don't think small calves would pose a problem either, just know that they aren't going to be skin tight. You can cinch down the straps somewhat, you might have to alter the straps and cut off a bit of the end if you wanted a tighter fit, but that would be an easy fix.

Why not try a pair on - they are just AMAZING boots!
You can always send them back our way if they aren't going to work out.

Also note the shaft circumference at the top is 12.5" so you should be fine.

Do you think these would fit a larger calf?...

Do you think these would fit a larger calf? I would be afraid to order them and not have them fit. do you have to measurements? ..I guess they look adjustable.

Hello Kyla, thanks so much for the question.

These boots are very loose. I have pretty beefy calves and they pose no problem in regards to fit. It is more of a floppy style. I'm actually wearing mine right now, I can fit 3 fingers in between the cuff of the boot and my calf - ROOMY!

I absolutely ADORE these boots, you cannot imagine how many compliments they generate. You should definitely snap them up - since they are a SMOKIN' deal right now. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions: ldowdall@backcountry.com

are these boots water resistant/proof for slush and rain?

Responded on

They are water-resistant, but don't confuse that with being water proof. For heavier rain, or a lot of slush these will still get wet.

Fabulously cozy and warm

These boots are comfy, cozy and warm. They do run large though. I normally order a 10.5 or 11, and ordered a 10 in this boot. They are slightly snug at first, but they do open up a bit. They are loose in the heel. I find my ankle slips out when I walk, but they are so stinkin' cute that I can't return them. My foot runs on the wide side, and there is plenty of room in the shoe bed for me. I live in the mountains of Colorado where we get plenty of snow, and my feet are very warm in these boots.

Something I really like about these boots is their weight. They are very lightweight compared to other winter boots. More like an Ugg boot weight. I get tired of lugging around heavy boots when trodding through snow.

They keep my foot dry in powdery snow, but I wouldn't use them in wet, sludgy snow. I'm worried about getting the leather wet too.

The straps around the calf area are really long. I'll probably end up cutting them.

Amazing

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These boots are great! They run a little big, I am usually between a 10 and 11 and luckily these fit great in a 10. They are a bit wide, as one might expect with winter boots. I have very thin ankles and heels so there is some extra fabric, but nothing some inserts and large socks wont fill. There is no real arch support so if you require some as I do you will need to throw some dr scholls in. The leg portion comes up quite high. I am 5'10" and it comes just above the larger part of my calf. I am also a runner so my calfs are a bit bigger than your average lady, but these have a ton of room and are fully adjustable so there almost cannot be a problem for any calf size. Good in the snow, slush can be risky as they are not rubber, but the thick sole and the leather band make them fine in regular urban and suburban conditions. Overall these boots are fantastically warm, they look super cool so I don't look as odd wearing them around my freezing office on colder days, and they are comfy too.

Love it!

I love that Sorel is doing some fun, more fashion pieces. Super comfortable and cute boot. I'm getting tons of compliments when I wear these. The instep is a little tight at first for slipping the boots on but after a few wears it has loosened up just enough.

The Pigs love the Blanket

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This little piggy went to market, and brought the Chipahko Blanket Boots alllllll the way home!

These are excellent, I love them. The wool material is deceptively warm and they are a seriously cozy/comfy alternative to clunky winter boots. I think they do run a bit large. I have a size 6 in Sorel Cate the Great boots, and this model seemed a tiny bit on the loose side for that same size 6. I would recommend sizing down a half size.

I love these because they are so unique. The wrap-around construction is very comfortable and stylish. I opted for the Charcoal color, which can easily be incorporated with most outfits. Perfect when paired with leggins or apres ski. I also find that the thick felt construction on the sole provides excellent comfort.

I highly recommend these babies, especially if you have cold piglets!

Check out the photo below for the traction on these boots. It's not ideal for really slippery conditions, but works well in most cases.

I've been using these for about 18 months now, and they have easily become my ultimate favorites. I often have strangers telling me how great they are. I just love them so much! Durability is excellent, they still look great and I've been wearing them at least 2 times a week.
