From mid-winter storms to summer camp on the glacier, the Special Blend Annex Men's Snowboard Pant is the only pant you need. It has a 15K-rated fabric that is durable and keeps you dry on long pow days, and features inseam and outseam vents to dump heat on the warmest spring slush days so you're ready to take on any conditions Mother Nature may throw at you.
15K-rated oxford fabric stands up to harsh winter conditions
Fully taped seams prevent moisture from seeping in
Taffeta lining slides on and off smoothly, and brushed tricot is soft and warm
Freedom Fit is baggier for unrestricted movement
Mesh-lined inseam and outseam vents allow for maximum airflow when things really heat up
Boot gaiters prevent snow from getting in your boots
Two hand and two cargo pockets stash your goods
Bottle opener ticket ring helps the libations flow
I am now on my second pair of these pants in 4 years. fit is great nice an baggy for extra comfort and crash shorts. Best features of these pants are all the options for ventilation and the waist gaiter. Using these pants more or less guarantee that your mid section will stay dry when you are getting after it in the POW POW. If you're looking for a great pair of pants you don't need to look any further.
Yea I kept it to the normal. 34 waist rocking large. they have some velcro that helps tighten the waist up a bit. Since I use crash shorts that negates my need to use a belt.
A Freedom Fit is a regular, relaxed fit for the ferocious freestyle dudes who kill it. You know you're partying with a genius pair of pants when they feature a bottle opener on the ticket ring...ahhh yeah! After a long day of lappin' the park, you might have to let your buddy drive home when you rep the Annex. With a perfect combination of party and performance, the Annex truly is a Special Blend.
Does anybody know if these are the same sizing and cut as last year? I have last seasons Annex in XXL and was hoping that they hadn't changed anything for their last two years. I would like to get a pair from their last season in business. R.I.P. Special Blend 1992-2003.
Manufacturers make minor tweaks to their styles every year, but this year's Annex will be very similar to Annex pants of years past. If you get an XXL in these, they will be extremely similar to yours from a couple years ago.

I'm 6'2" and have a 33" waist. Should I go for the Medium or the Large. I've a pair of Burton Cargos and DC Banshees in Large that fit me perfectly and their sizing chart matches SB's. Does Special Blends sizing in reality match Burton/ DC or do they run large? Not sure whether to size down to a medium or not. Want them to be baggy but not Gangsta style.
Good: -Full length baggy -monstrous powder skirt is removable -tons of venting -loose enough for layering -thin enough for warm days The bad: -cheap zippers like to feed on mesh
Just recycled my 686 pants that I've had for years. Wasn't planning on switching brands, but these are every bit as good and cost less than half. Aside from the vent zippers jamming up every time I touch them, these pants are sick!
Took these pants out for a day and was impressed. No complaints with waterproofing and breathability so far, and pants come with pretty standard features. For reference in this photo, I'm 5'11" and 180lbs in the XL. I prefer extra length and some bagginess in my pants, but I've also got a big waist (36) and thick thighs so they didn't look stupid baggy on me. Adjust the waist cinch, throw on a belt, and I was good to go.
Took a star off because it would have been nice to see some sort of reinforcement at the hems since this is a supposed to be a loose fitting pair of pants. Otherwise, I would highly recommend these if you're into the baggy fit, especially since SB is no longer in business.
The Annex has been my favorite pant for years and Special Blend has done nothing to change that this year. These pants, by far, provide the most features of any pant this price. Classic snowboard styling that isn't overly baggy. Super long inseam for us tall folk or those that just like the extra length. Really soft hand to them and a comfortable lining. Velcro waist adjustment and ample cargo space for carrying your favorite beverage. All in all, insane pant for only $180.
