Special Blend Beacon Insulated Jacket - Men's - 2011

I just received my "Beacon" jacket today. I ordered a medium for sleeve 32 - 34 and it fits my frame perfectly. The seam between the shoulder and sleeve are in line with my shoulder (I am 5'9" and a medium frame). The cuff openings are excellent to put your gloves inside them and wrap the cuff around the gloves for those cold and powder days. The color of the red looks even nicer in person. The oxford weave gives it an expensive feel and seems like it would withstand severe abrasions from trees, rails, boxes, etc. What impressed me was that the logo is actually sewn on rather than just ironed on, very classy. On the back left of the jacket I found "special blend" written out in red, which I find gives the jacket a touch of class. The ski pass flash pocket is very nice as you can put your pass in there and still see it. The zippers are buttery smooth and the velcro strips are sturdy. The waist gaiter keeps the jacket tight and does not bulge the jacket, great design. When zipped up all the way it covers the face to the nose, which is great for those brisk winds and blizzards. The goggle pocket was big enough to carry my goggles with room to spare. The media pocket is deep and I especially like the headphone cable outlet so they stay on the inside of the jacket. But I did find one thing that I do not like about the media pocket, there is no zipper. It simply uses two pieces of velcro to hold in your expensive media player, that was a poor design. Bottom line, this is a fantastic jacket and I can not wait to put it through this winter season. If you do not hear any more from me on this product then I still stand behind what was written above. We shopped for our 16 year old son for snowboard coat who is 5'11" and wears a 29" waist in jean,there is your visual. He conditions for basketball so he is very fit. I loved the jacket right away when it came, looks very well made. The red is bright, but not jumping off the coat. I was surprised by all the functions (MP3 pocket, ski lift pouch, etc) it offered, so that is what drew me to it. Heavy, but not bulky and will allow layering. The jacket fits his frame nicely however he feels the sleeves are just a tad too long. With that said, he feels like a small mens would be better, but I hope length is not sacrificed because he is no small fry. We ordered one today so it will be in time for our ski outing, but are keeping the original one for now in case the re-order is too short in arms. Otherwise, Good buy Dogfunk!

Riders you should know that you definitely catch the attention up in the mountain with this jacket.
