Special Blend Choice Gore-Tex Jacket - Men's - 2010

From the wet northwest to the windy northeast to the regions where you get a little of everything, it's obvious why serious riders reach for the Special Blend Men's Choice Gore-Tex Jacket. Totally waterproof yet highly breathable, the Choice offers the versatility that most jackets can only dream of. Throw it over a light undershirt when early season sleet blankets the man-made snow or over a heavy insulating layer when light pow piles up in the cold heart of winter.

Bottom Line: Two layers of badass protection for anything that winter can throw in your face.

Good All-Around Shell

Contrary to what is listed on the product description, this jacket is actually constructed with Gore-Tex Performance shell (slightly "lighter duty" than the 2L pro shell). That being said, this is a great shell. Very light, but still has all the features: powder skirt, enough taped pockets to stash all your goodies, a media pocket, and the comfiest lycra wrist gaiters. Perfect as a spring/early season stand alone shell, just need a few good layers in the cold. The jacket is well constructed, and performs really well. I've been kept dry and comfy on sunny park/groomer days, hot wet pow, and blower cold days. I have the Green Piece colorway in a size Large. I'm 5'10, 190lbs, the fit is fairly average, I would like a bit more length without gaining width, but decided to keep it on the slim side with the L. The con to this is the powder skirt fits a little tight, and slightly too high up on the waist, its almost not usable. Bottom Line: great gore-tex construction and performance, mediocre cut/fit.

Solid Gore-Tex Jacket

The Harrington version provides you with an artistic visual. It's not as wild as you would think and not not that great visually. The overall construction is of great quality: nice cut and fit, loose but not overly baggy. The main zipper needs to be broken in before it stops sticking. You will need to dress in layers on cold days because there is no insulation, which is a perfect jacket for the western region and milder regions. Nice overall jacket (go with a solid color though).
