Slimmed down.

I used to rely on Special Blend to make pants big enough for a "loose" fit on taller people. In an industry that seems to design outerwear for short stacks it was a godsend. Those days are over. It seems SB has jumped on the shrink and slim everything down bandwagon that is all the rage these days. That being said, the pant still has decent waterproofing and is comfortable to wear on the mountain. I am 6'0" and 180 lbs with a 34" waist and when I measured the inseam on the strike (xl) it came out to about 33". A big disappointment from someone who owns older SB pants with much longer and wider cuts. A note: My Kermit color is different then the one pictured. It has a yellow graphic color vs. that silver in the df photos.

I'm 6'3", 175lb and generally wear 32x34 jeans. Would a medium or large be a better choice.

These pants are a shell, they will keep you dry and warm up to a point. If you wear any baselayer at all you will stay warm for sure.
