Special Blend Utility Jacket - Men's - 2011

Think of the Special Blend Men's Utility Jacket’s 15K-rated fabric as your armor against blinding snow and buzz-killing winds. Special Blend thought of everything, so you just focus on successfully destroying the mountain’s array of natural and man-made features.

  • Underarm zip vents keep you from smelling like Sasquatch
  • Lots of pockets offer ample storage for all your nic nacs
  • Removable powder skirt adds extra protection on the snorkel days, and if that's not cutting it; also snaps to compatible pants for the ultimate snow seal
  • Soft taffeta lining wicks moisture and provides next-to-skin comfort on t-shirt layering days

Bottom Line: The snow army is forming and the Utility is the uniform.

Utility

I narrowed down my jacket search to this jacket and the Sessions MVP. I wound up sending this one back, but certainly not because I felt the jacket was lacking, but more because I liked the fit of the Sessions jacket a bit better. I'm 6'1 195 lbs, and the L was probably the right size for me (I could MAYBE go down to M, but I'm not sure if the arm length would be right in that case). The chronic color is pretty sick, and the jacket has some pretty awesome features and tons of pockets. I only docked it a star because the location of the pass pocket is kind of silly (inside the jacket around the waist/hips instead of on the arm or in the lapel) and because it would also be nice to have some headphone guides like the Sessions jacket has. So, to sum it up, if you like a bit baggier of a fit, go with this jacket and you won't be disappointed.

The medium would fit great. This jacket is the freedom fit which is a bit larger. The hood will cover a helmet just fine, plenty of room.
