Freakish freestyle capabilities.
Eiki Helgason pushes the envelope of freestyle snowboarding by creatively picking apart the gnarliest street rails, bomb drops, oversized ledges, and park jumps. Its no surprise that he uses the Switchback Eiki Snowboard Binding for his freestyle and street exploits. Featuring Eiki's custom Flatback for a super loose and skate-focused feel, it gives you maximum freedom of movement required to jib with masterful precision and skill. This highback is asymmetric in shape and sits within the heelcup at a virtually flat angle, allowing for lots of movement and flex when grinding and jibbing. Additionally, there's a Noback insert for riding without the highback itself—allowing for a loose, surfy feel when floating through powder or a skate-like experience when jibbing in the streets.
Built upon Switchback's composite baseplate, every part of this binding can be removed and customized with compatible Switchback parts without the use of tools. Suddenly, replacing broken parts and making on-the-fly adjustments becomes super easy and intuitive. Sitting atop the baseplate is an EVA Jib Pad, which provides superior cushioning from flat landings and icy run-outs encountered when hitting street rails and jibs. The Jib Pad has an adjustable toe ramp for customization with different foot sizes.
Switchback has provided super-comfortable EVA straps which are covered in neoprene, allowing them to mold to the shape of your boot without creating pressure points. The toe strap is a cap style for wrapping around the front of the boot's toe box, bringing great response and fit when ratcheted tightly. The ratchets are constructed of lightweight aluminum for strength, and the ladders included are super tough to resist abrasion and breakage after heavy use.
