Thanks to dual-zone EVA bushings integrated into the minimized baseplate, the Union Contact Snowboard Binding takes natural-flexing board feel to the next level. The park-friendly flex pattern and tons of cushioning help you lock in proper presses and land flat without worry.
Injected, dual-zone EVA bushings dampen shock and vibration, and improve board flex and feel underfoot
New Ultra Grip toe strap naturally wrap your boots for a great fit, whether you prefer over-the-toe or around-the-front
Magnesium buckles are half the weight and four times as strong as aluminum
Bottom Line: Feel your board flex like never before.
You want these, I know you. Cus you like the C word:
Comfort.
Can't get much more comfy than the Contacts. I've done the early season shtuff at A Basin and Keystone in these bad boys so far. They get strapped clean, secured easy and rock all run down the park or the early season ice. I can only imagine their sheer badassery once things get into full swing.
They flex sure, but I don't see it as an inordinate amount. Really, it just seems to facilitate the comfort. I've never noticed a loss in response even with the soft feel. Its the ankle strap in particular that makes me swoon. One slight con is the unstrapping of the toe strap. It doesn't like to let go at first, but it will succumb to persistence.
I used to rock Ride binders. And they are nice, superb even. But these Unions make them look like they were made by slobbering idiots. Stop comparison shopping cus you found the winner.

depends on the size of your boot.... i wouldn't start even thinking of a wide board until you get around 11 plus.... and if so they sell risers for boards so you don't have to go that route

Ankle Strap broke on mine the 5th day riding them. Customer Service was horrible and rude. Had to spend $62 for a replacement and they sent the wrong one. Never buying Union again.
these bindings were super cool beyond light blew my mind! a little less aggressive then i liked for all mountain! if your just in the park then get them over all i think for the extra 20 you should go with the force
I just picked these up this season I really like them so far. They are my first Union bindings so the EVA bushings were new to me. I really enjoy having some cushion under my feet as well as the board flex. I have mostly been riding around the resort on hardpack and ice and the bushings really help reduce vibrations which is really nice. The highbacks are a bit more flexible then I had imagined so I would say they are more of a med-soft then the medium that they are listed as. That being said they still hold up as an all mtn binding. Still I would be interested to try the forces or atlas it seems that they would fit my riding style better. But for the cost I doubt you can find a better all-mtn freestyle binging than these.
cant decide on these or the drake fifty or even the drake reload. i already have forces but need a back up binding for another board. how are these compared to the reload or fifty's?
I switched to Unions a couple years ago and have been pleased with their comfort and feel. The only complaint I have about the bindings is in the design. Union has everything right, except for the fit of the toe strap. It doesn't adapt well to the shape of the boot when placed at the tip. Only when its on top of the boot does it fit with some relatively decent adaptation. Maybe next year they'll get it right.
just got these in in rasta color and must say they look super clean! lots of adjustments to set them up just the way you need them and they are super light! the only think i did not like on these was the toe strap and how it wraps around the boot. other then that these are on point
Hey, i had the contact last year and it had a really nice, soft highback , i was looking at this years in a shop today and the highback seems stiffer. Does anybody know if they changed the highback this year or maybe if it was just because my old ones were used alot and broken in? Whats union's binding with the softest highback this year?
Your old high backs were just broken in a little bit. Union has been using the triplezone high backs for a few years now. triplezone meaning its stiffer on the bottom, than gets softer for the other two zones.
So, the highbacks on the Union Forces are tapered with the material, meaning that more of the material is at the bottom than at the top and you'll get a super flexible but responsive binding. I can't speak for the contacts but I would go with the Forces bro. Also, the Force MC's are the lightest (but still strong) binding on the market plus have a-symmetrical flex so those will be your best choice in the Union line if you have the cash.
