Become one with your board.

Scott Stevens chooses the Union Contact Snowboard Binding for its next-level board feel, jib-friendly flex, and lightweight, bomb-proof design. Feel your presses and tailslides lock in like never before, thanks to the super-tweakable Fusion highback and board-flex-enhancing baseplate bushings.

Tweak, poke, and bone-out grabs and slides harder than you ever thought possible thanks to the Fusion highback. A soft flex and notches along the sides allow for maximum lateral tweakability while still providing plenty of support for hitting the jump line. The Contact baseplate flexes with your board for superior board feel and control, and an extruded 3D aluminum heelcup reduces weight while maintaining strength and stiffness. The 3D Direct-Connect ankle strap provides a secure and responsive fit without creating painful pressure points, and the Open Toe Strap is low-profile and cored-out to wrap around the front of your boot for a comfy and secure fit.

  • Fusion highback
  • Contact baseplate
  • Extruded anodized aluminum heelcup
  • Dual-density EVA bushings
  • Symmetric 3D Direct-Connect ankle strap
  • Open toe strap
  • Injected aluminum buckles
  • Universal discs

Burton hail 2011 size US 11 boots. Would the M/L or L/XL be a better fit???

Responded on

Hey dane houghton,

I would suggest going with the L/XL size so that you have plenty of room on the ladder to tighten down on. The straps are very adjustable so you can center the toe cup and ankle strap around your boot.

Awesome Binding!

Bought these as a gift as an 'upgrade' from their last binding and they love them! great support yet flexible enough to enjoy the ride in through the park or taking some laps.

what comes with the Union Contact bindings?

Best Answer Responded on

Yo Henson,

The Union Contact Bindings comes with the bindings itself (left and right) and comes with all the hardware you would need to mount the bindings. Plus, they throw in some stickers so you could throw it on your cool thermos, board, or computer.

Keep in mind that Union is a smart company, and they throw in two different sets of base plates for your bindings. One is for your traditional 4-hole and it also comes with a 'universal' plate that you can mount on a board that requires the 3 hole. Usually you find these on Burton boards with the added 3-d systems, which is what I had to do with my board.

Other than that, that's pretty much all that it comes with right out of the box, hope this helps!

Great all-around binding!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I got these as a replacement for my friend as I originally ordered him the Flite and they were a little big and had no smaller sizes in stock. My friend really likes the Contact. It's a great all-around binding and has a little extra flex in the highback which is awesome for tweaking grabs, pressing and just having a little more playfulness in the park. The Contact isn't as light as the Flite, but it's still far from heavy. As with most Union Bindings, the Contact is really well built and designed and should be able to withstand multiple seasons of tough riding. Overall I'm very impressed with the binding and I would recommend to anyone looking for a tough durable binding with a little extra flex.

Thinking about a second set

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These bindings are great for the parks here in the Midwest. Lots of flex but some support too. I'm thinking about getting my second set of this binding but was wondering if a size 10.5 thirtytwo boot would fit in the L/XL?

I have chosen Union over all other brands due to the reliability and durability of all moving parts, and the no frills setup. I have a pair of Force that I use for powder etc on a T-Rice 157. I love them, but they are a bit heavier than my Contacts. The contacts are super light, the ratchets and ladders lock in flawlessly, and the toe cap molds and hugs your foot in to the heel cap. The base plate and footbed get you as close to the boards possible, which is important to feel what's going on beneath you. I mounted these on a Capita Defenders of awesome 154 and they are so much better than the Rome Mob Boss I had..the Rome bindings failed. Having cheap plastic parts, thick footbeds, and a lazy ankle strap, I didn't feel secure in them at all. Union have never let me down. From stomping kickers, to rails, and boxes, to steep and deep powder, I swear by unions. If you have the cash you can put it all on the Factory Team, but for beginners that want a binding they won't have to replace after two seasons I HIGHLY recommend the Contact or Force.

All you want in a binding

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These bindings are quite nice! The feel is nice and soft, but still very responsive. They are very adjustable too, so you can dial them exactly where you want. Pick these up, you wont be disappointed!

Bang for your buck.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Amazing bindings. Threw these on my second setup, which is a Lib Tech Box Scratcher. Great combination when paired with medium-soft or rockered boards. Actually expected these bindings to be limp noodles, but these deliver much more response than their jib/park upbringing would suggest. Shredded powder and tight trees this weekend and the freedom of movement and lateral tweakability afforded makes for a nice surfy feel. Bottom line-pick these up, you won't be disappointed!

Hey Conny,
Unfortunately we are unable to ship Union products internationally.

The high-backs on these tanks are so flexible. You'll be tweaking out tricks further than any of your friends.

sweet on my pow board too.

i'm not a heavy guy.
i like a soft pow board, charlie slasher, heard of him.
this binding is light and the high back is so forgiving.

Butteriest Bindings

I knew I had to try these the first time I saw Stevens ripping around in the original orange color way. This was back when riding anywhere besides the park meant that either the park was closed or whatever mountain we were riding didn't have a park. I'll never forget the first run I had on these bindings. I warmed up on the down bar at the top of the park with a 5-0 and damn near looped out. All of the claims that say this binding makes your board flex more naturally are 100% legit. It took me a few runs to get used to my boards new found flex pattern, but once I did it was awesome. Before I knew it I was pressing, tweaking and poking better then I ever had before.

This binding is awesome but be careful, these things are soft and may not be for everybody. But for anybody that is looking to lay into some presses or butter around the resort this is THE binding. Last year the Contact got even better with the new high-back that is softer then ever. This softer high-back equals even greater tweak-ability and butteriness.
