Hey,

The Flite's are definitely lighter than the Atlas.

would a 10.5 boot fit in the medium large? i like meh bindings tight!

Responded on

the sizing guide shows mediums only to 10's but depending on your boot you may be able to squash it in there. dogfunk has an excellent exchange policy so if you get one or both sizes you won't get the shaft.

Great bindings

These are super comfy bindings. They are very easy to adjust and very well padded. Flexible for tweaking and riding park but still great on powder days. Much better than the Cartels they replaced. I would recommend these for everything except aggressive riding on chop/crud/ice.

Potential to be great

Ok so first off I want to start on the positives of these bindings. They are super light as described. I love how adjustable they are all the way down to the foam on the base. They are good looking and I did notice a bit of increase in control over my board when I switched out my old Rossignol Unit's. So now here's the bad. Before I got these I asked a pro here on Backcountry if a small in these would work with my 32 Lashed size 9.0 mens since I know they are wide. They said yeah no problem should work fine. So I ordered a medium just to be on the safe side. The bindings are still too small, the sides of my boots rest on the tops of the sides of the bindings. This made strapping in awkward, and on the toe straps the pressure was unevenly distributed, even after I adjusted them to be centered on my boot. So if you have Lashed.. look elsewhere. Then when I went to install them on my board, I found one of the screws they sent me wasn't stamped, so it was just a blank head with no way of screwing it in which tells me their quality control isn't the best. Luckily I was able to find a screw that tided me over for two days of riding. Other things I didn't like about these is the highback adjuster kept popping out from it's locked position while I was riding! The strap latches are too small and take some getting used to and are sometimes hard to get unlocked if covered in ice. The last thing is I thought these would be well made but they seem kind of cheap and the "made in China" stamp on the bottom of these doesn't help me like them any more. These are definitely going back and I'm going to look at other brands from now on. Maybe if Union sticks with the idea of these and decides to make them higher quality (and make them in the USA) with more user friendly latches ect. they will definitely be a great binding.

I'm looking to get some new bindings, I'm riding last years TRS with the C2BTX. I'm an all-mountain east coast rider, cruising the groomers, riding pow when it's rarely available here, stopping through the park to slide a few boxes and hit the 30-40 footers, I basically do it all. I also take a trip or two out west every season in hopes of riding deep pow on big mountains. I'm looking for a binding that can handle everything, but i like the idea of the bindings allowing the board to flex. i've narrowed my choices down to the burton cartel, forum republic, union force, and the union flite. I'm sure the other three are right down my alley but they're a little bit pricey, I like the price on the flite and the fact that it's light but is it too soft to handle what I want to do?? Can I rock out with this or should I pony up the extra money and get one of the other bindings?

Burton Cartel or Union Atlas would be my two choices. If you have extra cash Burton Diod or Union Force SL. Two levels of bindings to fit into your budget.

I dumped my Reflex Cartels the day after I bought them. They don't flex as much as people say, all around a very stiff binding. I've never been a fan of Unions either, the just don't seem to fit my DC boots no matter what I do.

Sooo lite

These bindings are so F'ing lite, I love all the foam under the heal! They have a nice flat forgiving highback and the straps are soft making for a super cumfy binding! These are great all around, I'd recommend them to anybody.
