Union Force Snowboard Binding

The binding of choice for mega-ripper and all around manly man Dan Brissee, the Force Snowboard Binding embodies everything Union stands for—dependability, durability, and no-BS function. The Multizone highback offers reliable heelside control without compromising your ability to poke out a shifty or lock into a proper 5-0.

  • Multizone highback for a progressive flex that's responsive down low and tweakable up high
  • Stage II aluminum/Zytel baseplate for durability and a dialed flex
  • Two dual-density bushings under your baseplate dampen impact and minimize the 'dead spot' under your feet
  • Aluminum buckles for smooth entry and exit
  • Open toe straps for secure grip either over the top or around the front of your boots
  • 3D Direct Connect ankle straps for a secure, plush fit with no pressure points
  • Quick-adjust forward lean for tool-free tweaks on the fly
  • Universal disc is compatible with all binding mounting patterns and allows fine-tuned stance adjustments

Bottom Line: Legendary among locals.

Best purchase you can make

By:

From back country to park riding these will not let you down. Union makes it easy to adjust them to however you like to ride. They are the most durable piece of equipment I snowboard with. You can swap parts from year to year and combine colors to make them personal.

I think you'll be pumped on either one of those. I think if you're more all mountain focused the Force might be a little more up your alley. I would not consider the Force a stiff binding. It is stiffer than many park/jib specific bindings but that just makes it a little more responsive and supportive. I love this binding for anything from handrails to backcountry. M/L should fit just fine.

Awesome bindings

By:
March 4, 2013

I got these bindings to use on my Lib-tech Jamie Lynn Phoenix board. I am totally happy with them. These bindings are very sturdy and they have an awesome grip. I set mine up to use the toe strap around the front of my boots and that worked extremely well for me. They were responsive and I didn't have any extra play or unwanted movement. The big strap around the ankle is nicely padded and the little bumps make it grab nice and tight. I also found it easy to adjust the highback and to extend the gas pedal for my long foot. Highly recommend these bindings!
Note: The blue ones are a very light blue, almost girly - I would have gotten the black ones if I'd known there'd be such a difference in color to my board.

Gets the job, done but i dont reccomend it. Loose toe strap

By:
March 20, 2013

i expected a lot more out of these bindings. Union is really a reliable brand, but these aren't there best. i find my toe strap constantly getting loose when im half way down a trail. and in the woods or anywhere with lots of turning, i always have to re-tighten them halfway down the mountain

the only thing stopping me from giving it a two, is they look really awesome on my board. but besides that, i would definitely recommend going for a different set of unions. maybe the contacts, which ive heard good things about. or even the union dlx. i used to have those and those got the job done. cheap too.

Blue binders looking good on the Gnu Carbon Credit. Slowly evolved my setup to something a little more geared to the park. Will see how it performs this season.

Hey Chris, Thanks for the question. The L/XL forces will fit on that board just fine. The base and straps are larger than the smaller size of this binding, but not so much that you need a wide board.

Forces vs contacts

By:
January 21, 2013

FORCES.
The forces shred. I had been experimenting with different board setups and these bindings just made a DRAMATIC difference in my comfortability and performance on the slopes in alaska. I had been riding so union contacts( to soft and the ratchetes for the toe suck, they are also a narrow binding if your feet are at or over size 13. Too narrow...) which I liked. The were one hell of a step off rental and awesome for buttering and a controlled feeling of mobility on your board. But up on the steeps I wasn't very confident. I rode them 3 times and wanted something stiffer and wider.( the width issue was actually causing serious pain to the ball of my foot). I switched to forces and went to the slopes by myself to tune them for my style. I spent that day shredding down the black and double blacks so confident and so much more effortlessly. They stepped up my game without my skill increasing. The held the line no matter what when the contacts surely would not. The lateral mobility was still awesome making them feel like great potential for free style but park was closed so no input there.

So if you want to step up your game on advanced slopes and be way more confident to slam down the mountain head first. The bindings got your back.

So much better than contacts. Spend 20 more bucks on them.

To sum it up. They are the $H:T.

Street cred and functional

By:
February 7, 2013

I rode the Force binding the first year that union was around and wasn't amazed by them. I went back to Burton bindings and stayed there for a few years, this is the first season I have comeback to the Unions and they are amazing! The ratchets are so much better and they are just a more comfortable binding. Give union a try and you see why they are my binding of choice. Plus youll look cool because you ride union, add in a capita board and you will get laid.

Goog not Great

By:
December 23, 2012

These bindings are very durable. They are really heavy, and they toe strap is funky. If you cut off the weird material on the toe strap its alot better. But they are heavy bindings.

Union Force or the T9 Mass Appeal bindings?

The Mass Appeal is a great binding. I personally have been riding the Forces for years and haven't found a better all arounder than these. Great for park riding but has enough support for any type of riding you throw at it. I've used these bindings from everything from handrails to backcountry.

Light Binders

By:
October 21, 2012

I have had multiple pairs of the Force binding over the years, and they are the best binding around the $200 price point. Super light and flexible, these bindings are great for riding park and jibbing around the mountain.

The funny thing about the green colorway is that union brought it back from 2010 because it wasa so popular (proud owner of 2010 forces :) )

Hey jos5028041,

Union does make the Force binding in a S/M but we don't have any in stock. I don't see any coming in at this point. The S/M is rated for a mens 5 - 8.5, M/L is rated for mens 8-11. It depends on the boot you are using. If it is a newer style boot with a smaller "footprint" or shell, you will definitely want a S/M. If you have a Vans boot or something bigger you could probably get by with that M/L.

Great Bindings!

By:
January 19, 2013

These binding have a pretty nice flex and are super comfy. They really put you in sync with you board. Super rad. I've read reviews saying that the toe strap was kinda odd and had broken easily but I've never had a problem with that. Definitely worth the money and really fun to ride. Peace.

Very durable!

By:
December 24, 2012

i bought these bindings instead of getting another pair of burtons. they are definitely a lot stronger but also a lot more heavy. i paired a m/l pair with a pair of burton size 11 boot. they fit perfectly but any bigger boot would need a l/xl and burton boots have a smaller footprint. These bindings can take anything you throw at them. Love these bindings! One bad thing though is the toe strap. odd shape and hard to unstrap sometimes

If you are referring to the disk that goes on the base of the binding that the bolts go through, yes. Union bindings come with a disk that can be used on virtually any snowboard! Hit us up if you have any more questions.

This binding kills it for anything and everything. I ride this binding on my jib board, my pow board, and my splitboard. It has a med-stiff flex so it is very responsive, its also very durable so it can take the abuse of dropping cliffs into pow.
