Description

The only binding you'll ever need.

The binding of choice for fearless Salt Lake City locals and all-around rippers Dan Brisse and Cale Zima, the Force Snowboard Binding embodies everything Union stands for—dependability, durability, and no-BS function. A medium-flex and burly baseplate offers next-level heelside control when you're charging steeps without compromising your ability to poke out a method or lock into a proper blunt slide in the park.

The multi-zone Force highback is super-responsive for incredible board control and power on heelside turns, and the ultra-rugged Stage IV baseplate is so strong that it's guaranteed for life against breakage. Yup, you heard that right. It also has an extruded 3D aluminum heelcup to reduce weight while maintaining strength and stiffness. The 3D Direct-Connect ankle strap provides a secure and responsive fit without creating painful pressure points, and the Open Toe Strap is low-profile and cored-out to wrap around the front of your boot for a comfy and secure fit.

  • Multizone Force highback
  • Stage IV baseplate
  • Extruded 3D aluminum heelcup
  • Dual-density EVA bushings
  • 3D Direct-Connect ankle strap
  • Open toe strap
  • Magnesium buckles
  • Universal discs

I have size 11.5 boots. I was thinking about getting l/xl bindings, but I know there are differences in manufacturer sizes. Any help on what I should get? Thanks in advance.

Responded on

Hey AJ,

For your size 11.5 I would suggest pulling the trigger on the L/XL size.

Hi, I have sz 7.5US boots - would these work in the M/L bindings or are my boots too small? Thanks

Best Answer Responded on

I would definitely go with the S/M which unfortunately we do not have in stock. The S/M is meant to fit a boot from 5-8.5 US Men where the M/L is 8-11 US Men.

Will soon have a pair of Nitro Reverse size 9 or 10, but what size do they fit for these bindings?

Responded on

Hey Mary,

Thanks for your question.

For a size 9 or 10 I would suggest you purchase the M/L size in these bindings. We have that available right now in the 'Matte Red" color only. I hope this helps.

Union Force Binding

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is my second season riding and a had been using a rental. I bought a Ride Machete 161cm wide. I got the force bindings with it. They where easy to install and have a lot of places for adjustments for a custom fit. I was only able to ride the board twice before the season ended. They seemed easy to get in and out of and can get pretty tight on the boot. I like them so far. We will see how they do next season.

A Negative Review Amongst the Hype

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased these bindings when they went on sale thinking they must be amazing since everyone seems to ride them, and Union only makes bindings. Torstein also rides these bindings. Maybe I tried the wrong Union binding but I found these to be not great compared to the bindings I have ridden. I did discover riding the toe strap over the top of the boot is much more comfortable and responsive than over the toe. The ankle strap is very cushioned so that's positive. They overall just didn't feel as good as my other bindings. I guess Union riders would consider me a Cartel a** hole but I believe my Burton Cartels feel much better and are more responsive and I don't even particularly like Burton products. I confirmed this by riding them both back to back. The Union bindings though are extremely well made! So overall I'm not completely knocking them but I personally don't like them. I sold mine.

I believe Torstein uses the Contact Pros, which, from what I've read, are a bit nicer in quality and are lighter.

would a L/XL fit with my 9.5 Burton boot?

Yes, but the M/L would probably be a more snug, better fit.

I'm looking to get these union force bindings which size should I purchase for a size 11 dc avaris boot.

Responded on

Hey Ryan,
I squeezed into a M/L for a few days this season in a size 10.5 ThrityTwo Lashed, it was a pretty tight fit. I would recommend going up to the L/XL for your size 11 Avaris boots.

Great binding-DO NOT USE LOCKTITE!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

So after buying this awesome binding I made the mistake of using LOCKTITE to anchor the mounting discs and within the first day of riding I destroyed the disc and then the same happened to the other mounting disc the following day. Apparently they plastic is essentially allergic to LOCKTITE so union doesn't recommend using it. Toothpaste or wax works just the same of you're wondering. But the binding is super responsive and all around great. I love the flex the high back has. Haven't had a problem with the mounting discs since I stopped using LOCKTITE. So at I love these new unions especially for the price!

size 11.5 boots with shrinkage tech so a 10.5 footprint...should I get the m/l or l/xl?

Best Answer Responded on

Go with the medium. I've found its better to set a binding on a larger size than to try to size the binding down. I had these in the XL with a 10.5 boot and I couldn't get the size small enough to fit. but maxing out a M\L is a tighter feel, which is reassuring.

Best feeling binding I have ridden!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

First off these bindings are amazing and the only reason I gave them 4 stars is only a cosmetic issue, which I will explain is a second. So I come from Burton and have Missions Cartels and Malavitas. So I just got these in the Matte Red and love the look especially on my T rice pro HP!!! Anywho it does take a second to dial these in but it is way worth it. My suggestion is have 30 minutes and go through the little book they give you and adjust everything to suit you and your boots right off the bat, because if i would have just mounted them and rode they would have not been right and would of pinched my boot. But after doing that and then riding all weekend in great snow I have to say I am really impressed, the build quality is great and I feel they fit my boots perfectly and are extremely responsive. I am super happy I got them and they are my favorite binding for sure.
Now, the only reason I gave them 4 stars is the paint is chipping already on the buckles. I have only ridden these bindings 2 days and I feel that should not be happening. Only cosmetic but hey..... Has anyone else noticed the paint chipping on these at all? I feel since they are a matte finish something during the paint process wasn't done correctly.

For the money you can't beat these bindings. Buy them!!!!!

I have a size 11 Nike boot, should I get a M/L or L/XL

M/L for sure!! I way prefer to have the smallest binding possible and tweak the settings. A M/L should fit that boot perfect. Plus there a ton of adjustments on these bindings to get it right.

Great Overall Binding

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Its very responsive solid binding deff a upgrade from my burton missions and its very comfortable. Only things seem to dislike is it takes a minute to get the bindings how you want it but its deff worth it. And its a very attractive looking binding

Nice Re-Design of THE Standard.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

First of all, Backcountry nailed it on the delivery time. They shipped out the same day, and they arrived in a jiffy. As some reviewers have noted, this year's model is an upgrade from the previous generation Force bindings. Noticeably lighter when compared side by side. Very powerful bindings. Some of that "power" can be adjusted down by removing forward lean, or by moving the toe ramps forward, and out from under your foot. Straps are comfy. A tip when mounting bindings: CLEAN the top sheet of your board in the area that the bindings will be mounted. Use additional loc-tite on the mounting screw threads. Lubricate the screw head flanges where they interface with the tapered washers. Use a #3 screwdriver. Make things evenly tight. Keep that #3 screwdriver in your car/ gear bag just in case. Check the mounting screws on occasion, especially after the first day or two. Plan on having these bindings for longer than your last pair, because they're only getting better!

Good lookin and responsive

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

bought these for my boyfriend along with the never summer evo and here's what he said about them "they were a pain to get set up but I like how they ride. Pretty comfy and responsive. And they make my board way less ugly."

Good but a couple issues

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great feel. Best binding once you are going.

But, bottom toe strap can be a pain to get off and strap plastic broke 2nd time up. Could have been a freak thing.
