There's a reason you see the Vans Classic Slip-On Core Classic Shoe on the most discerning dudes around town—because there's no substitute for this legend. Whether you're riding your fixie downtown to meet a lady, skating to the corner store on a brown-bag afternoon, or are running out the door and need a stylish shoe you don't have to lace up, this definitive Vans slip-on is the one.
Bottom Line: The Vans Classic Slip-On Core Classic Shoe is a superlative all on its own.
Dogfunk.com knows that no one wants the used-car-salesman experience, so we decided to show you the other guys prices in an effort to keep your shopping experience as informed as possible. I've had my slip-ons for four years now, and they have LONG outlasted all my other shoes, skate or not. They even outlasted a pair of Dunk SBs that I never skated in. They are awesome for wearing anywhere, at any time. Every other skate brand out there has tried to imitate the classic slip-on, but this is really the most solid option out there. The best part: they look better as they get dirty and used. No matter what your style is, there is a pair of slip ons for you. I've even seen Slayer ones. And if they dont make something you like, you can design your own on the vans site for a premium. Dogfunk is really the cheapest you are going to find these other than ebay. sweet!!!
these are pretty sick. they were the first vans i ever got. really comfy, and SUPER lo profile... there is no nothing laces, but still fit hold your foot really nice.
Here's my dilemma, I have been a HUGE fan of the classic "Jeff Spicoli" Off-The-Wall, black & white checked slip on's since "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" came out in the early eighties. Problem is, I don't have the same skinny 14 year old kid's feet anymore! Vans really let down their customers when they quit making & selling wide-sized shoes. Where can a guy still find a vintage, or hell, even a used pair of these classic American shoes in size 13 wide? Am I just dreaming, or can it be done? And at what cost? I might be getting old, but I'm still not ready to grow up. Help, please! - Mike Chapman
Perfect shoe to have multiple pairs of with a variety of colors to go with whatever you wanna wear. Think of them as those old nokia phone covers people used to buy and change out when cell phones just became popular.
Perhaps the most comfortable shoes I own, I've had them for a couple of years now and they're still going strong. I love them. They get heads turning to, as they stand out quite a bit :)
I love Vans slip-on shoes. I bought these specifically for work, and wear them around all the time outside of work, too. Very comfortable, and do well for being on my feet for hours at a time.
Does anyone out there ANYWHERE know where I might be able to find any new, used, or vintage Vans Classic black/white check slip-ons in WIDE sizes?? Specifically size 13W?
Vans does not make wide sizes. I'm not sure if they have in the past, but as far as the last few years go, it's only one width sorry man. Good luck with your search!
Yes. The Van's Slip on is in Men's sizes. If you are looking to buy these for a girl, click on the Size Chart link and it will tell you which men's shoe to buy.
comfy. stylie. no need to mess with frustrating laces anymore (damn you laces! never again will you confuse me with your over-under-around-the-tree bullshite!)... hands down, THE most versatile shoe i own (i've worn these to weddings; yes, i'm that classy).
The Vans classic slip on or core classic slip on both fit true to size. I've never had a problem buying these to my true size. There isn't any of that padding nonsense so depending on the shape of your foot you may need to size up for wide/fat feet or down a half size for the more narrow foot. I have a narrow foot but buy true so that I can wear them with socks and still be comfortable in the winter and lose the socks in the summer.
I just wish they held up a bit longer. I've gone through like four pairs. If I could get them for $20 it wouldn't be such a big deal. I'd buy a new pair before I had holes in the previous pair.
If you want slip-ons, consider Vans to be your go to. I do notice that when I first get these, they are stiff and difficult to get into. After they break in, they turn to butter and are easy to get in and out of. Size wise, I wear a 9.5 in other vans and got a 9.5 in these too. True to size.
if it ain't broke, don't fix it--these kicks are called classic for a reason. the best kick-around comfortable shoes on the planet. don't settle for anything less.
