Vans Encore Snowboard Boot - 2009

Now in its sixth season, the VANS Men's Encore Snowboard Boot is time-tested and shredder approved. This flexible BOA-equipped boot has enough backbone for slashing the steeps and a skate-shoe-like feel for owning the rails.

  • BOA lacing features a reel-and-dial system for one-handed operation and no pressure points
  • Trifit Asym-X Thermal liner features heel-holding technology & a dual-density EVA midsole for impact absorption
  • EVA footbed cushions, supports arch, and resists odor
  • Heel impact relief pads prevent heel bruising
  • Vanslite Snowaffle Sole’s ¾-wrap heelclip stabilizes the foot and increases torsional rigidity for enhanced turning response

Bottom Line: So good, the crowd never lets it leave the stage.

Just Alright...

These boots fit small, I suggest going at least a half size up from your normal size, in my case I needed a full size up.

I found these boots difficult to get in and out of due to the way the laces on the inside of the boot are positioned. Getting the liner in with those laces in the way is kind of a pain, and getting the liners out is equally difficult. I am basing this on a comparison to other boots which have the internal laces on the liner instead of the inside of the boot, which makes it super fast to get the liners in and out.

Aside from fitting tightly around the toe, being a bit small, and somewhat difficult to get in and out of, these boots seem to be well constructed and have a high build quality. I imagine if they fit your foot right they would be very comfy too. People with smaller feet or who like smaller toe boxes will probably dig these boots a lot.

I have had my Vans for about 4.5 seasons and they are still in use. Easy in easy out. Boa is the bomb.

you'll be fine man, usually for 11 up a large binding will do fine so XL will be good for 12's

Great boots

Got the wild bad brains yellow versions. True to fit perhaps a 1/4 size smallish before breaking in which is how frankly I think they ought to be....nothing sux worse than a loose fitting boot. They broke in well, good flex, boa is very fast twist a few times and off and running. So far so goof very happy with them this season.

just got these and they are awesome. the boa system make these so easy and quick to put on and they are extremely comfortable with great flex. the only thing i would recommend is ordering one size larger than usual.
