Proven performance without the sticker shock.
The Vans Men's Hi-Standard Snowboard Boot illustrates that excellent comfort and customized fit don't necessarily require paying steep prices. This boot features a medium-soft flex, ideal for beginners and seasoned shredders who enjoy sampling everything the mountain has to offer.
A traditional lacing system keeps this boot supportive, and an instep lace lock out allows both the lower and upper zones to be independently tightened. A heat-moldable TriFit-X liner gives nailed-in heel hold and the cushy feel of soft interior cushioning foam. A V2 dual-density EVA footbed supports and cushions your riding experience with high-rebound impact relief pads at both the forefoot and heel. The ClassicLite outsole has an oversized inverted waffle tread for superior traction, and it features a special rubber compound in high wear areas for more durability and better wear.

I've heard from a review site that these boots do not work with over-the-toe bindings... It said that the toe gets crushed when you try to tighten the toe strap. I really want the style and comfort of these boots though--does anyone have experience with the boots working/not working with over-the-toe bindings?
Good, Durable Boots
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
These boots fit well enough, and are as close as their regular shoes in fit. Fair warning that they may need a bit of breaking in, as the ankle guard might not fit to your foot from the start
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This is the second pair of Hi Standards for me. I loved the first pair but the lace lugs broke while I was riding my sled. The new pair has different lugs that look and feel far more bomber.
I hate stiff boots and these can start out a bit stiff. However, when they break in, they are like wearing a skate shoe. I can hike, tour, drive, or dance in these things without feeling like robocop. I hate breaking in new boots, so I cheated and put my old liners in the new shell. Feels like my old boots!
As far as warmth goes, no issue to date, and I have quite a few days in these things.
Save yourself some money and try a pair. As long as Vans make the Hi Standard I will continue to buy them.

How do the boots fit? Are they a little tight? I wear a 10.5 and am not sure if I should get an 11 or not
These boots fit pretty true to size. I would stick with ordering the same size as your street-shoe size. A 10.5 should work great.

Best all-around boot? Yup.
After hearing all sorts of hype about Vans boots, and seeing pro and semi-pro riders rocking the High Standards, I decided to give them a shot. Far exceeded my expectations. For $180, there's nothing better. I Use them from the peak of Snowbird to the Terrain parks at Brighton. And quality is superb. I'm really diggin' the TriFitX Liner, it helps keep your feet snug, and the diamond lace hooks keep the laces from loosening. Pick em up and you'll feel me.
