Voile SD Mojo Split Snowboard - 2007

The Voile Split Decision Mojo Splitboard splits in two for uphill efficiency, the converts back into a solid, tapered all-mountain board for the ride back down. Voile invented the splitboard concept, and has been the industry leader in backcountry snowboard design ever since. Lightweight construction means less effort on the skin-track up, while new, capped edges improve edge hold. Voile also gave the new Mojo board 7mm of taper this season, which improves turn initiation and helps the nose rise out of the snow in powder. The result is more float, more fun, and more freshies. Each Split Decision board comes complete with board, mounting hardware, a climbing bar for improved uphill efficiency, and 130mm tractor skins. The universal sliding track mounting system has been proven on expeditions throughout the world, and works with your current boots and bindings.

Bottom Line: Innovative design and proven construction come together to give snowboarders the mobility and freedom they need to explore the backcountry.

in response to B+'s review: you had them on the wrong feet. super light, which is great for way up AND down. super responsive: you ride this thing, don't drive it. mojo definitely prefers powder. floats like a dream. can even go a few cm smaller (my roomie rides a 171 prior and always wants to borrow my 161 mojo. worth much more than you'll pay. this has been best season ever thanks to this board.

You can use the bindings and boots (shoes as you call them) that you currently own. No need to buy new ones.

The good:
I just got my new 166 mojo this season. It is awesome! I rode a much older voile splitboard for 7 years and finally retired it. They have been much improved. Weight, quality of the board, pucks and plates, ease of configuration. The board comes with all you need but bindings and boots. I currently use the flow m-11 bindings and like the quick release for avalanche considerations. Cheat sheets are a must. Skinning is a simple and smooth.

The bad:
There is a lot of hardware on these things. I suggest using a more permanent substance to hold the screws/etc in place once you get it dialed. Otherwise, check it a few times during a day of riding and every morning before you head back out.

Well worth the price if you want a great powder board that is capable of getting you back into the untouched. Highly recommended!

Best Split Board Out There

The Mojo is much lighter than previous Voile models! It has a more powerful edge when in ski mode due to both sides of the "ski" having a caped edge. Also the binding pucks are much easier to set up now with the included puck tool. This tool will take hours off of getting your stance dialed in! It is good to size up slightly in split boards but don't go too large. 2 cm is usually enough. If you are not riding deep snow you may not need to size up at all.
