I've familiar with the dress when it was sized as XS, S, M, L, but if I wear a S, what size will that translate to? 3?

Depends on what brand your comparing a small to. If youre talking about a women's small, I would say 5. A Juniors small (which is what this is) would be a 3. I buy medium & wear a 7.

Great quality dress by Volcom! Overall the construction is fantastic, super well built, thick fabric, nice simple design. It even comes with an additional set of straps! Only issue I found is that the back zipper needs a clasp to keep it up. Costs about 30 cents at a fabric store but was not included in the dress.
