The Volcom Women’s Frochickie 11in Short is an amazing chino short versatile enough to wear while hitting the links with your handsome loin-cloth model boyfriend (until a bear meanders onto the green and tries to eat you—good thing you had a small dosage of pepper spray stowed away in one of the Frochickie’s rear welt pockets). Or it’s a good short to wear while you’re having a good time pushing your board around at the skatepark (until some BMXer cuts you off and causes you to fall, in which case the stretch from the 2% elastane won’t restrict you while you kick him in the jaw). Or it’s a good short to wear on an impromptu brunch with your best friends (and that one straggler who laughs like a hyena and never seems to blink—just cut your losses there).
Bottom Line: You can’t prevent unforeseen circumstances, but at least you will look great when dealing with them.

I cant wait to wear these this spring. Theyre a fun length and the fabric is very comfortable - its just a tiny bit stretchy but not enuogh to make them skin tight. They fit really nice through the hip and butt. True to size also.
Do these shorts have front pockets? and if so are the deep enough

Yes there are front pockets. I'm faily certain an iPhone would fit okay as long as you dont buy a size that is too small.

Great quality, but hips are unusually large relative to lower waist. Runs one size large overall, as well.

I wrote a review for these shorts in 2008. I'm back to say that these are still great shorts. Clearly they are great shorts if four years later Volcom is still making them! They hit at the knee and are a snug fit through the waist and ummm... bottom... looser on the legs. I have the khaki and pool blue - both great colors. I'm 5'2'' and 118 pounds and the size 5 fit perfectly.
