Such an amazing jacket

By:

This past weekend I had the most comfortable ride ever. It was my first trip with my new Landvik jacket and iI wore it with Volcom TDS pants taking full advantage of the Ziptech functionality. This jacket was superb! Even taking spills on several jumps, I never once got wet or cold. It regulated my body temperature very well and if iI felt a little too warm once in awhile, I quickly cooled down after opening the Terminal exhaust zippers under the arms. The face mask was nice on the windy side of the runs and the built in clips on the hood which allowed me to attach it to my goggles was just awesome. my hood stayed where it was supposed to be and kept the wind out of my ears. No snow was allowed into my outfit with the powder skirt and the hand of the sleeves being sealed up. I found all of the pockets to be ideal with plenty of room and the goggle pocket inside was perfect for storing an extra pair of pipe gloves. Those are my favorite but they get wet sometimes so I like to carry extra.
I'm also a huge fan of the zipper. It's tremendously sturdy and water proof. Zipping it all the way up gives you a lot of face protection and it's lined with soft fleece so it feels good on your jaw line.
It has a hefty price tag but you certainly get what you pay for here.

I'm 6'4 215 lbs, will the xl fit with room to layer?

I'm 6'4 215 lbs, will the xl fit with room to layer? Do you need to layer much with the gore tex and tds? Also what's the fit? Ergo? Looking for long sleeves. Got frickin monkey arms.

Hey Jay, I'm 6 foot and 200lbs... I'm wearing a large and I also have long arms. The sleeves reach halfway over my hands to the knuckles and there is plenty of room to layer up. With this jacket though, if your zipping the powder skirt to a pair of Volcom TDS pants, you won't need layers. it's very warm!

you will have plenty of room to layer with the XL. I am similarly sized. Further, the lycra hand gaiters help keep the sleeves in place. It is Ergo fit. Nice thing about DF is that you can order it and if does not fit you can return it, no questions asked. The TDS is killer.

Beast of a Jacket

By:
February 12, 2013

3 Degrees Fahrenheit on the slopes this day - So cold that a few minutes in the shade froze any moisture you had on you. I had snow melt from all the action, it'd be wet on the outside of my jacket and once we got in the shaded area, it froze solid... never got cold. Jacket is a total beast.

This Jacket is Boss!

I bought this jacket and love it!

It feels so light and doesn't over-encumber you. Previous jackets I have owned needed to be puffy and lined with extra stuff to keep you warm, while this jacket feels like an ordinary shell jacket in weight but instantly heats up. The T.D.S regulates your own body heat to keep you warm. I put this on at home to show my girlfriend and was instantly sweating.

The inbuilt face mask is pretty cool. It sits inside the hood, behind your head. It can be easily pulled over your head, onto your face, then tightened at the back of the hood with a simple elastic drawstring. You can remove it also, if you prefer wearing your own. But you don't really feel it inside your hood anyways.

I bought a size Large, and I'm only 5'8" but I'm a solid guy at 90kg and large shoulders and chest. Usually wear pants that are a size 36. I still have room for layering. But I doubt layering will be required often, because this jacket is warm!

The jacket also has a few safety features if you like to rock the back country. Recco is a cool thing I never knew about, where a Recco chip is stitched into the jacket. All reputable ski resorts have Recco detectors. So you can feel a little safer if you want to stray from the regular track. The zipper is a whistle... Sick as! So if you have a shoulder blowout like I did, you can blow that bad boy until someone comes and helps you. Or you can whistle tunes on the lifts, annoy your mates, or get the attention of snow bunnies you want to impress

If you want to get a jacket, and want to feel reassured you are wearing something with a great warranty and life expectancy, this is the one! It does it all! And you look cool, feel safer, feel warmer and feel dryer. This is the jacket for anyone who wants the best.

I hope this helps you out :)

best jacket ever

I have never been so comfortable in such cold weather! this jacket is all about the layers you wear under it. On a blue bird day, maybe only one layer, but on a white out a couple more layers. No matter the conditions, if i wear the correct underlayers i am perfectly comfy. My friend has the same jacket but last years model, and the zipper on his does not work very well. The zipper on this years landvick is much better and gives me no problems. I have literally nothing bad to say about this jacket.
