not very "retro"

this bottom is very high cut... besides the high waist, doesn't look very retro. the back (butt) coverage is very minimal. good quality and comfortable fabric if the high cut and minimal coverage is what you are looking for though.

Yikes. I was really excited about these, but I don't think I've ever put on a more unflattering swimsuit. They're much higher-cut than I was expecting. Maybe if you have a long torso, these will work better for you, but on my 5'4 body, they came up about 4 inches above my belly button, which just made me look like a pudgy grandma. And I agree with the previous review that they don't offer as much coverage as you'd expect from a retro-fit bottom. Otherwise, the fabric and construction are good quality.
