Volcom Shatter Jacket - Men's - 2010

The Volcom Men’s Shatter Jacket knows it sucks to go from over-heating to freezing. This snowboard jacket's V-Science breathable lining system releases heat at high-output areas (See: pits), yet locks in warmth around your core so your overall temp doesn’t drop. Meanwhile Volcom's lightweight Polyfill insulation works with the water-resistant shell to prevent the cold and wet from ruining your day.

  • Zip Tech pant-to-jacket interface creates a veritable one-piece with Volcom pants
  • Peripheral hood adjustment for better vision with the hood up
  • Super Suede chin guard so your face doesn't get thrashed
  • Two-way cuff system cinches around your thumb to lock down cuff

Bottom Line: Volcom's Shatter for temp control.

It's more of a midweight jacket... I bought it a size up so I can layer underneath it, but it's also light enough for higher temps. It has underarm venting with zippers to close it off when it's cold.

This jacket is real legit. I would definitely recommend it for whoever. Lightweight but still keeps you warm in the negative temps for sure. I wore mine in Colorado last christmas and I was perfectly fine with one layer underneath

in the 40s, you can probably get away with just a shell and shirt underneath. this jacket with its insulation might be too much.

I have this jacket and we've had temps ranging from -7 to 38 this week. This jacket is light enough for use in warmer temps, plus the underarm venting makes it easy to cool down. If you get too warm, it's easy to unzip the vents, open up the cuffs, and use the velcro (instead of the zipper)to fasten the jacket. When you do this, the jacket breathes like you wouldn't believe. Hope this was helpful.

Perfect All-Around Jacket

By:

I travel between Idaho and Illinois, so I'm used to temperatures ranging between -45 and 50 (spring boarding in ID). This jacket will keep you warm in subzero temps if you layer up properly. I was perfectly comfortable just standing around in -7 degrees with this jacket and underarmour, but the loose fit allows for substantial layering. Also, the venting on this jacket allows it to breathe when the temps shoot up, or your working hard building jumps, jibs, setting rails, or hiking the back-country (all of which I've done with this jacket). Just open the vents, loosen the cuffs, open the front zipper and use the velcro and you could run a marathon in it. Overall, it's an amazing jacket and you can't beat the price or the fact that it's volcom. I can't find the pass pocket, though. If anybody finds it, just let me know haha.

Like Joel Said, the jacket performs superbly!

Great jacket so far. I took it up to Park City and it performed perfectly. It's a light jacket but if you layer correctly than you wont have any problems. Also it kept me dry which was really important when the snow started coming down half-way through the first day.The only problem I had is I didn't take the hint and look at the fit. It's a baggy jacket and I kind of wish I went a size down. Oh well, when I get crazy ripped I will fit perfectly in it! Hah!

It's got plenty of insulation and a good waterproof rating. This jacket will keep you way warm in cold temps. If it gets super chilly just layer underneath and you will be set.
