Let your riding do the talking.
A V-Science laminate shields you from snow and wind, and taped critical seams prevent moisture from seeping in. Low-Loft insulation is low-profile to help you stay warm without adding a puffy appearance or limiting mobility. The Zip Tech jacket-to-pant interface allows you to zip the Slab to your Zip Tech-equipped Volcom pants for the ultimate in snowproofing. Mesh-lined underarm vents open up to promote air flow when the session gets heated, and an internal media pocket lets you bump your favorite tunes to keep you stoked throughout the day.

The Slab will get me through the coldest months this year. This jacket is a legit cold weather piece. Right away, you can tell that the "washed canvas" (actually regular polyester) face fabric is substantial. Be aware that the fabric is meant to wear in and get a little bit faded. When you put it on, you're met with a microfleece liner and a medium amount of insulation that heats up like a furnace.
Fit: Volcom's droptail fit is slightly less baggy than their traditional Ergo fit- but it's still pretty loose. I'm 6 feet tall and slim, and the large fits baggy but not too baggy. I could have downsized to medium for a true fit.
Features: Many pockets to store my crap. The two vertical chest zips will come in super handy. It does have Zip-Tech as well. One thing I'm bummed about is that for $280, there are no wrist gaiters. Other than that, I'm beyond hyped on this piece!
I kitted it up with Volcom's Tik pants (also available on dogfunk.com), which come in the same washed canvas material.
