Volcom Type 1 Insulated Jacket - Men's - 2010

Volcom got it right the first time with the Men’s Type 1 Insulated Jacket. The cold is kept at bay, thanks to the warm polyfill insulation. The V-Science 2-Layer shell keeps you dry in even the nastiest dump your neck of the woods has seen in years. Your MP3 player can be kept safely in the noise pocket, and your goggles have a homey little pocket of their own as well. When you find yourself in face shot territory you’ll be glad for the stretch adjustable powder skirt, and V-Science 2-Way Cuff System.

Bottom Line: It only took one try.

I have a Burton Poacher jacket from 08 with 40g Thermacore insulation

I have a Burton Poacher jacket from 08 with 40g Thermacore insulation . I have to wear a couple extra layers to stay warm & I was wondering how much warmer is 60g of insulation. I'd like to drop a layer or two. Also does this jacket have wrist gaitors & a powder skirt?

60 grams of insulation is still pretty lightly insulated. This jacket will keep you about as warm as your 08 Poacher. Yes on the pow skirt, no on the hand panties.

My boyfriend has the same problem with sleeve length. He's 6'-5" and lanky with long arms. 37" arms. Did this jacket work out for you? How's the fit in the body of an XL? He's about 10lbs heavier than you.

Yeah you want to go XL on this one. Volcom outerwear is generously sized, but I imagine the arms will still be too short on the large.
