Mission, best vision!
I've never really liked wearing goggles. That unnatural look from the lens tint but mainly on seeing the frame. I feel compressed, they're literally up in my face bothering me while I'm riding, cramping up my stoke. No more with this big fatty bowl :D
I'll compare the size difference with the Oakley Crowbar which I've been using for a couple of years and could be said a standard size goggle. The crowbar's peripheral/side vision is very good but it narrows at the top and bottom. The Fishbowl extends vertically and out solving this concern. You have to try hard to see the top/top corners and sides, barely there! The nose area is pretty much the only thing evidently there and it's minimal. If you are looking straight everything just feels so open and free! Go ahead look side to side too, up and down because you have the vision to do so!
Comparable goggles I've tried on are EG2's and Dragon's APX. I've also tried Von Zipper's Feenom which I'd say size wise is in the middle of a standard goggle and the Fishbowl and it also offers good vision vertically.
In short... most goggles already offer great size horizontally and adding great vertical size makes for a much better package ;)
Picked up some VZ Fishbowls last season half way through. Put 12-15 days on em and never had fogging issues, EVER. The band and frame are quality built and even after smashing tree limbs, still no scratches on the lenses. They ar ehuge for sure but who gives a s*@#!
Can you recommend a ski helmet that fits...
Can you recommend a ski helmet that fits well with the oversize fishbowl goggles. I love the goggles but they are so large they push the helmet up on top of my head and their curved shape leave a large gap below the brim. Does anyone make a helmet to fit this style of goggle better?
I've ridden the Fishbowl with the Smith Maze and the Pro-tec B2. Both were great fits.
I got these for $19.50 from whiskey militia a few weeks ago, freaking amazing deal, and was so stoked to try them out on the mountain today. Purple Erkel.
The good: super lightweight, much lighter than a frames, which i usually use, and much more flexible than them as well. A frames always felt pretty rigid to me, but these flex and form to my face very well. The field of vision is amazing. If i look down, i can see a little bit of frame, side to side, maybe a tiny tiny bit, and up...nothing, just my eyebrows...amazing. i literally forgot they were on until it started raining and got drops on the lens. the foam is comfy. The lens tint is nice from the outside, pretty mirrored on a sunny day, and from the inside, seems to be just about the right tint for an all around lens, not to light, not too dark. it's not dark like fire iridium, but not light like a pink iridium or persimmon. pretty good. the goggles are huge, i look like a boss, and they are so comfortable, more even than a frames on my face.
The bad: the optical quality of the lens is not as good as oakley or smith. i always heard that oakley and smith were better than the rest, and i never really believed that you would be able to tell a difference with other companies, but the clarity on the goggles just isn't quite up to the oakleys. with my a frames, i forget i'm looking through a piece of plastic. with these...there are a few aberrations and weird spots, and it just doesn't seem as clear. hard to explain. they're great, just not as good as some others. not enough to worry about or not buy them for though. also, the strap lacks some sticky material to keep the goggles on your helmet. i wish it had that. other than those things, the goggles are top notch.
i wouldn't pay 150 for these, but they are sick goggles. i might convert from my a frames to these, i feel like overall, i like them more. just fit better, cooler look, no fog, dope goggles.
couldn't be happier, especially for $20
nice style vision perfect, realy cool googles confortables:P very happy
PERFECT had anaon realms an have some OAKs an Electics... but "NOW" FISHBOWL all THE WAY! thanks,

Is the anti-fog coating all talk and no walk or does it actually do its job?
it really does the job
I've had many VZ goggles over the years and they've never fogged. Not even one. Seriously. I've had the Feenom, Skylab and Fishbowl and have never had any problems with them fogging. I'd say the Anti-fog coating does the job.

Do these come with an extra lens? Or just the one?
i got these today order threw Dogfunk "cause its where the cool kids shop"... the Purple Erkel they dont come with an extra lens. but well worth the money everything a high-end goggle should be. you get what you pay for. an if you ride a lot you will appreciate these light weight low profile frame. VZ's i will highly recommend. thanks,

Swimming in styleThe VonZipper Fishbowl
The Fishbowl is Von Zipper's first foray into the oversized goggle trend and the result is a functional and stylish frame that provides huge peripheral, doesn't fog, and remains pressure-free all day long.
Obviously the first comparison everyone is going to make is against the EG2 from Electric. Having rocked both, I have decided to keep the Fishbowl because it fogs less and fits with my Protec helmet just a little more comfortably (although, I wasn't wearing it here). Also, I see a lot of EG2's out there now and seldom spot a fishbowl.
The chrome on my fire lens is dark enough where lifties can't see me rolling my eyes at them when they try to zap my pass repeatedly, but still light enough to have definition on party cloudy or cloudy days. I will probably purchase another clearer lens for night or extremely low-light days though.
I have been riding these all season and strongly recommend them.
These are probably the best goggles I've ever put on my face. I LOVE wearing these! It's amazing what a difference it makes when you can see where you're going. HUGE field of vision and your peripheral vision is pretty much wide open. They really don't fog at all, other than a tiny bit at the bottom when I have a facemask on.

Vonzipper Fishbowl Goggle - John Jackson Edition
Biggest fish in the pond!
after months of research i narrowed my selection to the Dragon APX, Electric EG2, Smith IO, & VonZipper Fishbowl. i tried all of them on and ended up purchasing the Fishbowl since it had the best fit. these are a huge upgrade compared to my last goggle, the peripheral view is great & the fire chrome lens adds contrast to the terrain in the shade.
it would be even better if they added some grip on the straps for helmets.
These goggles are the bees knees! If you want a super comfy goggle with huge lenses then these are the goggles for you! Fits great with a helmet, particularly the POC Receptor+ Bug! And the smokeout model is as heady as Bob Marley him-self! Great lens quality and they have a wide range of conditions that you can ride it, you don't have to worry when the storms rolls in cuz you got a set of Fishbowls on!

What conditions are suitable for the Lime Satin/Quasar Chrome
fishbowl goggles. When i put them on it seems like there a yellow tint but im pretty sure its gold? Help please...
I ride the Quasar Chrome about 80% of the time. It is a very versatile lens that works in almost all conditions. The only time I change it out is if it is totally flat light and snowing, I go with Yellow Chrome. And in the Spring or Summer when it is completely sunny I use Bronze Chrome. In my opinion, Quasar chrome is the most versatile lens VonZipper makes.
Great Goggle, Incredible Price from DF
So, I have been riding Spy Soldiers for a while and decided it was time to get a goggle with a larger field of view. These got good reviews so I was toying with the idea of buying them. One day I was looking around on DogFunk at saw that the Lime Satin/Quasar Chrome Fishbowls were going for $49.95!!! So I picked them up then a couple of days later the price went up to $149.95! Anyways I was so happy I got them for 50 bucks I went ahead and purchased the John Jackson edition ones as well. Super comfortable, steezy, great field of view, never fogged up. Great buy. I highly reccomend.
FRESH OUT OF THE BOX
I got these goggles for the upcoming season so I haven't been able to field test them yet. I put them on, they're what I've been looking for, for a long time. If you're bothered by visual limitation from small frames you've got to get these. These goggles are HUGE! Not only can you not see the frame but they're so light and comfortable that it really feels like you're not wearing any goggles at all. Great buy! I can't wait to use them on the mountain!

Will the fishbowl fit with a Large POC Receptor Bug?
I wear the Fishbowl under my Protec B2 helmet and it fits like a charm. I really depends on how you wear your goggles.
