Pack it up and move it out.
A pair of Yakima New Q Towers will let you put your gear on any vehicle. Pickup trucks, campers, and other utility vehicles may need an extra bar or just one to start with. The Yakima New Q Towers fit more vehicles than any other rack tower. Q clips, needed to attach the towers to your vehicle, are sold separately. Locks are also available.

Rack it up
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
The Q Towers fit securely on the my truck and get the job done hauling my junk. I don't like the fact that the pads sit right on my paint and are probably scratching and dulling the paint but there is no other alternative other than drilling holes in the roof to mount a rack.

Will this fit my 1993 ford ranger supercab 2wd? Is this only one crossbar or is it 2 like Yakima sells on their website?
This isn't any cross-bar. This is a set of two towers. You get one pair - enough to mount a single cross-bar on your truck.

mercury mystique no rack. Does this fit any car or just ones with no gutter and a round profile?
It will fit most cars. Yakima has specific Q-clips for different vehicles. I'd help more, but you didn't mention the year of your Mercury and that's important. If you go to http://www.yakima.com/, there's a "fit my car" option that will allow you to enter your car information and see what products will work for you.

will this work on VW passatt 2012
Yes, however you need a set of 4 to have 2 crossbars on your car. You will also need the clips. 1 set of Q35 and 1 set of Q128 and a pair of 58in bars. Locks are not included, but recommended and each tower one lock core.
Will this system work on a Hyndai sonata...
Will this system work on a Hyndai sonata 2006
It will work, but it's not all that you need to build a system.
You'll need two pairs of Q Towers, one pair of Q5 Q clips and one pair of Q99 Q clips (http://www.backcountry.com/yakima-q-clips-1-pair-yak0074.html), and a pair of 58" crossbars (http://www.backcountry.com/yakima-58-inch-round-bar-1-pair.html).
Then, you have to buy the mounts for whatever you'd like to stick up there - bikes, skis, boards, etc.
Will this mount to a pop up camper? I...
Will this mount to a pop up camper? I have a 2001 Jayco Quest. I would like to mount this to the roof and to hold bikes. What do I need to purchase?
This is not the correct tower for a pop-up camper. You will need to use Yakima Control Towers and install either Yakima tracks or Yakima fixed mounting points (landing pads). The Yakima tracks use Yakima Landing Pad 1. Your choice of fixed mounting point really depends on what works with your configuration.
Another option is to install Yakima Widebody brackets on the side to simulate raingutters. Then, instead of Q Towers or Control Towers, you would use the 1A Raingutter towers. There are tall versions available (spacers, etc.) if you have a unique situation requiring you to mount the brackets lower than preferred.
Either way, your pop-up camper must offer a stable and secure bolting surface, lest your rack tear/shear completely off during a sudden deceleration or turn.

Write your question here...Will the Q Towers fit my '08 Jeep Patriot?
You will need Q83-A Q clips for the front and Q83-A Q clips for the rear, 58" CrossBars and a 50" fairing (optional). I did this based on the assumption you will be fitting them over factory racks.

Currently Yakima doesn't have a Fit Clip that will work on your car. You do have a few options though. One, custom rack system. This needs to be done by a custom rack shop (i.e. Rack Attack) which will allow you to use a full Yakima rack and all the accessories. It's quick and painless and usually ups the resale value of your car (warning: do not do this on your own! It needs to be done by a certified custom rack installer). The other option is Yakima's new Rack & Roll Trailer (you will need a hitch installed). This trailer is awesome and allows you to put anything you would on your roof on the trailer. It's essentially a roof rack made into a trailer. The benefits are more aerodynamic, easier to get on and off than on the roof, and you can fit more on the trailer. You should check it out on Yakima.com. If you don't want a custom rack or a trailer, you can check back regularly on yakima.com and hit the link 'Fit My Car' for any updates.
you can go with the factory rack that screws into the rain gutters. check ebay or mazda. its 425 from the dealer and about 100 less on ebay. cheers

My son has polls but needs yakima tower system. what will work?
They are very simple and easy to use. The newer models of q towers(not compared to y towers) are much easier than the older ones. I had to get just the pair because my older ones broke when i was reinstalling them to my car. But these are great. Good price from backcountry.com. actually better than yakima themselves.
I bought a Q Tower system for my wife's Sienna van a while back and it went on beautifully. It is also super easy to take on and off. For my Civic the fit was a bit trickier but once I found the right position it sticks solid. This site is also the best price for Yakima gear. I did a lot of price comparison.
Great for Pick up trucks
I own a pick up truck, and only needed 1 pair. Backcountry store has the best deal and price! Next time I won't waste my time looking any ware else.
This is the only racking system that with an oversized bar can go from a Chevy Citation to a Chevy Suburban to a VW Passat in less than 5 minutes and with only an allen-wrench set. Simply amazing, and much more stable than you would ever think possible!
