Tame unruly straps.
Mount Yakima StrapCaps on your crossbars for added strap security. Stop tying knots and wasting time centering straps when mounting boards and boats. Transport your boat, board or paddles without tangled straps, lost straps or strap migration. The security stop on the StrapCap uses a special end cap with a tab to keep straps in place.

- Familiarity: I've used it several times
My roof was getting a little cramped for space, the addition of these allowed me to move the kayak holders out a little further. Look better than the standard caps as well.

My caps are 17 years old, and still going strong. Well worth having over the standard end caps.

They replace the standard caps that came with your Yakima bars. They slide inside the bar and when you turn the screw, they are locked into place (so they don't fall out). The little tail on the caps sticks out (most likely pointing down) and prevents a strap from sliding off the end. It's mainly to put your mind at ease when the strapping is close to the edge of the racks.
Installation was a snap
Less than five minutes to replace the standard caps with these. No rack should be without!
Life is easier
The difference is Huge!
Straps are easy to get on, but since I don't have to untie them when I get somewhere, it makes them even better.
I agree that Yakima should make these standard.
These things should be standard issue with all yak products. The traditional bar caps they come with are worthless, but become the bomb just by adding the little hook at the bottom.
