Description

Floats like a directional, stings like a twin.

If you need a quality all-mountain ride at a price that won't force you to think of even more excuses for why the rent's late, look no further than the Yes Basic Snowboard. It handles any kind of terrain with ease thanks to the versatile CamRock profile, which features a combination of camber for power and pop, and float for float and forgiveness, so that you have fun riding anywhere from the park to the peak. After all, at it's most basic level, isn't having fun what snowboarding's all about?

The dudes at Yes switched things up this year by building the tail in a way so that it has less volume than the nose while still maintaining a twin shape. The result is a board that rides like a twin on hardpack, but floats like a directional in powder. Poplar in the core makes it lightweight and lively, while beechwood Impact Blocks increase strength and durability. The twin shape makes riding switch and landing fakie easier, and a radial sidecut allows for smooth turn initiation. Biax glass gives the board a buttery feel for jibbing and surfing through powder, and the extruded base is easy to repair after you ding it up in the park.

  • Camber between bindings with rocker at tip and tail
  • Twin shape
  • Radial sidecut
  • Biax glass
  • Poplar core with beech Impact Blocks
  • Extruded base

Would this board be good for a female...

Would this board be good for a female rider? I'm 5'2", 120 lbs and currently ride the GNU ladies choice in a 148.5 which feels like too much board for me. Wasn't sure if stepping down to a 146 would be short enough.

I think something around 143 would be better unless you have a very wide stance.

This board rips

Heard so much hype about the Yes. Basic. I ride Snowbird, UT (steep & deep) and I don't think it could possibly be a more fun board. Rips in the steeps. Has a considerable amount of pop, and it has the perfect amount of flex for all around use. I love the tail, it's thinner which makes it float in powder. So fun. Yes on life, Yes on snow, Yes on fun.

ALL IN ONE IS ALL YOU NEED

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This board is sick, I would definitely recommend this board to those who are changing the trends. YES did a great job on making this board an all around beast anywhere on the mountain. I highly recommend this board to any rider of any level wanting to perform any trick anywhere anytime...you get the point, this board is awesome and has an really good price

Everything you need, nothing you don't

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This board is a great do it all board for the buck. Handles extremely well in most any conditions due to the directional volume twin shape and hybrid camber. This makes it so you can take this board in the park, ride pow, or rip a groomer all in the same run. As far as flex goes this board comes in right at the middle with a not too stiff/not to soft feel that allows it the perform well all over the mountain. With YES going at it for a while now and created and backed by some of the best riders in the game, this is a great do everything board at a killer price.

The Basic Rips in pow

Here's some footy from a few nice pow days at Brighton, this is the 159cm, i'm 6'0 and about 195 lbs and this has plenty of float. The bi-axial fiberglass glass allows for some additional float when it's a little deeper which is nice and you don't have to fight it when ripping pow turns. Love this board and have put it through the ringer. YES it's a snowboard, YES it rips, YES i love it!
