Great Fit Over My Glasses

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Let me start off by saying I love these goggles. They are perfect size for those people (like myself) that wear glasses while riding. Although you can purchase a kit from Zeal that is designed to go over your glasses its not needed. They are big enough to fit over glasses even without a beanie on. My opinion is..if you are looking for a steezy pair of goggles that will fit over your glasses and not push down on your nose or leave you with discomfort after a long day of shredding then you should buy these. Hope this helps...

When hearing a video describing a pair of Zeal Slate goggle, one item caught my attention: over the glasses KIT. Purchasing a Zeal Slate goggles, do I get this OTB kit automatically or it must be bought separately?
Thanks,
Mark

Zeal website says must be purchased separately.

Great for the price

I can't afford a pair of high end $150+ goggles so I bought these instead. I have to say that I am very happy with my purchase. People say they look great and I get asked about them a lot. Contrary to the other reviewers, I have never had a problem with these fogging. The photochromic lens works great as it adjusts to the lighting conditions on the mountain. I've used them in sunny conditions, overcast conditions, and super foggy conditions. They work great in the sun and overcast conditions but when it was super foggy I had to take them of in order to see anything 10ft in front of me. But I'm pretty sure no goggle would have allowed you to see clearly in those conditions.

If you are not looking to spend to much money and want at good pair of goggles, I would go with these. Take care of them and they will not disappoint.

A Little Bland

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Nothing special here. It's a very standard goggle and they look OK at best with a helmet on. My two big problems with this goggle is that they fog all the time with a helmet on and the peripherals aren't that great.

Overall, I'd consider them a very average goggle but with an above-average price tag. I'd expect these goggles to fall in the $69-79 area for what they give you. The price is why I gave two stars rather than three. As a side note, I got them for free so I wasn't burned for the price but I can tell you I absolutely would never spend that amount on these.

Zeal Slate Goggle

A great synopsis on the Slate goggle, by Zeal!

Mediocre

I bought them thinking they were going to be a bit larger...turns out they run a little small. Also, I saw a SCRATCH ON THE LENS without even taking them out of the box. I'm disappointed in this product, mostly because a $118 pair of goggles shouldn't come with a scratch already on it.
